The Account Executive is responsible for the day-to-day administration of digital marketing and advertising initiatives for Agency’s Automotive clients. This individual is instrumental in the development and implementation of new initiatives, and also assists in the development of marketing and advertising strategies, including gathering and analyzing information. The Account Executive will have a thorough understanding of the Automotive industry, and will possess a strong background in digital, search and social marketing. The Account Executive is in direct contact with Clients and internal support departments and will maintain these relationships on a daily basis. It is the objective of the Account Executive to secure our Clients’ confidence as a digital advertising professional who can support their digital marketing and advertising strategies and initiatives.


Day-to-Day Duties

  • Work with Senior Account Executive on the day-to-day strategy, reporting and standardized work

  • Support Account Coordinators with their respective day to day duties as needed

  • Assure support staff follows Agency procedures and fulfills job responsibilities.

  • Participate in training of new employees, when applicable.

  • Develop and maintain a production timeline for each creative production job. Alert Senior Account Executive(s) if timeline is not adhered to.

  • Secure the necessary Client approvals/direction prior to implementing campaigns or taking action.

  • Monitor and report competitive actions and/or initiatives.

  • Participate in weekly status calls/meetings.

  • Monitor and trigger Client/vendor billing and payments, when applicable.

  • Review and be familiar with all contractual agreements with Clients, vendors and other partnerships.

  • Assist with proofreading scripts, ad layouts, legal disclaimers

  • Maintain relationships with production and creative staff

  • Develop meeting content and help write presentations, working with Senior Account Executive(s) and/or Account Services Director as necessary

  • Become the “market expert” for assigned markets and continuously monitor for competitive activity

  • Understand each individual dealer’s business via dealer visits, either independently or with the Senior Account Executive(s), and provide written Dealer Contact Reports within 48 hours of the visit

  • Thoroughly understand the production process

  • Thoroughly understand digital media, Website Back-End Tools, Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools

  • Thoroughly understand legal/disclaimers and co-op and compliance and adhere to them with all work

  • Thoroughly understand social media

  • Thoroughly understand the launch process

  • Basic understanding of CRM system, SEO, feed issues, lead distribution, pricing rules, pricing templates, vendor selection, webmaster tools, website designs, website platforms, WordPress blogs.

  • Other duties as assigned

Account Management

  • Manage assigned Clients’ daily digital projects and strategies.

  • Anticipate Clients’ needs, and work with the Senior Account Executive to keep the Agency in the position of leading.

  • Track weekly and report monthly campaign performance, including: web and media unit analytics, search performance, social platform performance, and traditional media when applicable.

  • If applicable, provide monthly media updates to Clients and Account Team, including media budgets and media calendars.

  • Keep management updated at all times regarding client relations issues that may need addressing.

Interactive Campaign Development – Media & Creative

  • Work with SEM and the Account Team in the development of media plans and campaigns.

  • Provide accurate direction to SEM regarding changes in plans per Client direction and approval of Agency proposals/recommendations.

  • Provide strategic guidance to SEM and Creative Teams during plan development.

  • Work with SEM and/or Creative Teams in the development of timelines, creative materials and digital assets required for campaign implementation.

  • Monitor production timetables and ensure each milestone is met and addressed, keeping Clients and Account Teams apprised of process and timeline ramifications.


  • 1+ years of experience in Account Management with Digital & Traditional Advertising experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent relevant experience required

  • Automotive experience is highly desired

  • Strong writing, presentation and client-facing communication skills (presentation samples may be requested)

  • Excellent multi-tasking, networking, time management and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Agency’s internal and/or other third-party systems used by the Agency

  • Client focused with a strong sense of detail and urgency

  • Prior sales experience is a plus
