While I’ve been interested in cars for much longer, I encountered an entirely different side to the industry when I bought my first car the summer before my freshman year of college. For many of us, a car is the first thing we actually own that costs a lot of money initially and keeps costing us money.
Thankfully, I was raised to keep up with scheduled service almost obsessively. For my whole family, missing a scheduled service or not taking care of important issues was unheard of. To this day, we’re all still on a first-name basis with most of the employees at our local Toyota dealership’s service center.
That’s how I personally became interested in this industry. From the beginning, I made it a point to be an informed consumer. It’s helped me not only with my current vehicle, but with my work here at DOM360.
