Samsung Makes Automotive a Priority
Samsung will be the latest technology giant to make a move into automotive technology in 2016. Unlike Google and Apple, Samsung will be focused on technology that complements your vehicle, and not creating their own automobile.
Seeing an opportunity to open a new revenue stream, Samsung has created a new development team focusing on in-vehicle entertainment, satellite navigation, and self-driving technologies. As technology becomes a larger and larger part of the driving experience, they will seek to become a major provider of that in-vehicle technology.
More vehicles are becoming equipped with internet capabilities and larger and more intuitive displays, the need for technology to run these features will only grow.
Automotive companies also will be working to beat Apple and Google to the autonomous vehicle punch. As that market develops, automotive technology will become an even larger revenue source.
