DOM360 Careers: Media Buyer



The Media Buyer/Planner is responsible for the development and execution of digital and traditional media objectives, strategies, plans and tactics for our clients in the automotive industry. This individual is the primary point of contact between vendors, DOM360’s clients and our management team regarding our clients’ advertising needs. The individual must be well-versed in the technology and strategies behind media buying and planning.  As the Media Buyer/Planner, the responsibilities will focus on helping our clients generate substantial growth through media buys.


Day-to-Day Duties

  • Create media buys to meet our clients’ volume and ROI goals

  • Develop and present recommendations, evaluations, POVs and media analysis to Account Service and ultimately clients

  • Create and place annual media plans

  • Collect scripts for co-op

  • Collect traffic instructions from Account Service Teams and send to stations

  • Review and audit bills monthly and provide to accounting for payment

  • Negotiate rates, added value, makegoods and credits with traditional publishers

  • Optimize placement and targeting of media buys using industry leading software

  • Administer monthly media plan

  • Attend meetings with media partners, represent DOM360 at industry conferences and seek new growth opportunities

  • Ensure that all Company policies and procedures are followed

  • Coordinate with Account Service Teams on understanding of current marketplace conditions, competitive spending and potential media opportunities

  • Supervise and train employees as needed

  • Maintain relationships with Account Executives

  • Prospect new opportunities with current or new traditional publishers

  • Create client presentation materials with Account Teams as necessary, where media buying is being proposed

  • Participate in Client Status Meeting conference calls where media buys are, or may be, part of our services provided

  • Assure Clients are aware of and understand Agency procedures as well as timelines for new initiatives or projects

  • Secure the necessary Client approvals/direction prior to implementing buys or taking action
  • Update weekly status report to keep Agency staff/Client(s) up to date on the status of all media projects
  • Other duties as assigned


  • 5+ years’ media buying/planning experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Exceptions can be made depending on level of knowledge and experience)

  • Traditional media experience in TV, radio, print, outdoor. Digital a plus.

  • Comfort level with technology in marketing, including databases, project management software, web tools, etc.

  • Ability to analyze performance and traffic reports

  • Experience in automotive industry is a plus

  • Client focused with a strong sense of detail and urgency

  • Experience with software to manage media campaigns

  • Intermediate proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office products, Google Drive, and other third-party software packages

  • Proven communication proficiency, both verbal and written, with people at all levels of an organization

  • Business acumen

  • Prior sales experience preferred, but not required
